Campobello Island / Roosevelt Campobello International Park.


 Campobello Island is located in the Bay of Fundy off the tip of north east Maine. Campabello Island is one of the three Fundy Islands, part of New Brunswick, Canada and can be accessed from Lubec, Maine across the Roosevelt Campobello bridge. Visitors can also access the Island taking the East Coast Ferry from Eastport, Maine or Letete, Brunswick via Deer Island. Visitors wishing to travel on to New Brunswick can save around 100 miles by taking the ferry via Deer Island! The mainstay of Campobello Island industry today is fishing and tourism.

Campobello Island is renowned for being the favourite haunt of President Roosevelt. Take a free tour of Roosevelt Cottage, the 34 room summer vacation home of President Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor. The Roosevelt Campobello International Park is a unique 2,800 acre memorial park, which is jointly administered by the Canadian and U.S. Goverments. Explore the beautiful gardens and watch for the abundant bird life, over 150 different species can be found on Campobello Island.

Other places to visit include the Head Harbour Lighthouse at the northern tip of Campobello Island, the Owen House, now run as a Hotel and the Provincial Park to enjoy a round of golf. Camping and picnic facilities are also available near the beach.
